An Impressive Beginning: The Majestic Beauty of Mount Fuji’s 5th Station

Mt.Fuji 5th Station

Spectacular view from the 5th station of Mt. Fuji

The absolute highlight of the tour was, without a doubt, Mount Fuji. We ascended to the 5th Station to get up close to its breathtaking beauty.

As the bus climbed higher, the surrounding scenery transformed, giving a sense of entering a different world.

Upon arriving at the 5th Station and stepping off the bus, what immediately caught my eye was the incredibly majestic figure of Mount Fuji, beyond words.

We were blessed with good weather that day, and under the clear blue sky, its dignified form welcomed us. The summit still had lingering snow, and the magnificent view created by the contrast of its white, the blue sky, and the mountain’s surface was simply awe-inspiring.

Our guide passionately shared fascinating anecdotes about the formation and history of Mount Fuji, as well as the scenery visible from this location.

Thanks to our guide, I was able to appreciate not just its beautiful appearance, but also the profound charm of Mount Fuji as a symbol of Japan, making the experience even more moving.

Reflecting Mount Fuji: A Serene Moment on the Lake Ashi Cruise

After soaking in the grand views of Mount Fuji, we headed to Hakone. Our next destination was Lake Ashi, enveloped in a mystical atmosphere.

The view of Mount Fuji from the lake was exceptional, and we thoroughly enjoyed its beauty aboard a pleasure boat.

It’s said that you can see “Inverse Mount Fuji” when there’s no wind and the lake surface is like a mirror. Unfortunately, the wind was blowing that day, so the reflection on the lake was blurry.
I thought the Inverse Mount Fuji would have been reflected more clearly on the lake if there had been less wind! Even though it was blurry, I’m glad I could see the Inverse Mount Fuji!

When Mount Fuji is perfectly reflected on the lake, the reflection of Mount Fuji on the water is like a painting, and its perfect symmetry is breathtakingly beautiful. The combination of Hakone’s rich nature viewed from the boat and Mount Fuji in the distance provides a blissful moment that makes people forget the hustle and bustle of the city.

Our guide provided detailed explanations about the legends of Lake Ashi and the nature surrounding its shores, making the cruise even more meaningful.

Feeling the Earth’s Breath from Above: Hakone Ropeway and Owakudani

After Lake Ashi, it was time for an aerial stroll on the Hakone Ropeway.

Below us lay the volcanic fumarole zone of Owakudani, a testament to active volcanic activity. The smell of sulfur hung in the air, allowing us to feel the Earth’s breath up close.

From the ropeway, both Lake Ashi and Mount Fuji came into view simultaneously, offering a truly magnificent panoramic vista.

Our guide humorously explained the volcanic activity of Owakudani and the unique story behind the “black eggs,” captivating all the participants. It was a very impressive experience to witness the raw power of nature and the wisdom of people living within it.

The tour concluded with a comfortable return to Tokyo aboard Japan’s world-renowned Shinkansen (Bullet Train).

Despite its high speed, the train was remarkably stable, and I was once again impressed by Japan’s technological prowess in its comfort and punctuality.

Carrying the excitement and emotions of the tour, we arrived back in Tokyo in no time.

The Best Guide Enhancing the Tour: Unforgettable Hospitality

I strongly feel that a major reason why this tour was so wonderful was undeniably the presence of our guide.

Always smiling, our guide paid attention to each participant and patiently answered every question.

On the bus during transfers, our guide explained Japanese culture, customs, and the history and background of the places we visited in an easy-to-understand manner, with a touch of humor, ensuring there was never a dull moment.

Furthermore, our guide pointed out the best spots and angles for photography, and sometimes even offered to take photos for us, demonstrating truly impressive attention to detail.

Thanks to our guide, we not only enjoyed sightseeing but also delved into the depths of Japan and learned a great deal. Professional yet approachable like a friend, our guide allowed us to relax and enjoy the tour from beginning to end.
